Almost a decade ago I noticed they were forcing ebook updates with "corrected" (e.g. sanitized) versions of my favorite books. Initially, they claimed it was to correct typographical errors. However, I noticed that entire passages were being removed. At one point I had a line by line comparison at what was being removed. It was essentially PC bullshit.

Ever since then I download my ebooks onto an air-gapped hard drive for safe storage.
