As the question asks...what, if any, handguns do FALers play with?

Just wondering...have a .44mag Redhawk, a 14.45 LDA, and a .30 Luger. I know Mr. Pink has a P89...

Many!

But-
My personal sidearm is a BHP Mark III in .40 (10mm kurz!).

My wife carries a really old & ugly 3" M29 S&W .44 Mag. Open up and say 'aaah!'

PS- we don't play! We are way too self-important for play! (just kidding)

Whoa! Dan's right! I'm running mine through the chop saw right now! No evil hanguns here no more.

I'm sticking with those more socially acccpetable long guns...like FALs.

There sure is something about those big bore hand cannons gaping back atcha tho'

DK -is your DWM a 9mm or a 7.65mm?

I had occasion today to do a lil' plinking with a Tanfoglio Witness and a Ruger P97, along with the Para Ordnance 14.45 LDA. All are good shooters, if you're a 45ACP fan (I am).

My favorite sidearm is an older ('84 or so) .44 mag Redhawk with a 5.5" barrel. I suppose it's more of a what your comfortable with. I have blasted so many rounds with it, it is a comfy shooter.

My pistola's:

Cz 75B 9mm

Taurus 617 .357 magnum 2" ported spurless

Colt .22 some nouveau rendition of the Woodsman with a bull barrel

Cz 70 .32 acp surplus el cheapo glove box gun

I obviously need a .40 and a .45. I will probably get around to that after getting 2 more FALs built and an AK or two.

I'm pretty fond of my DAO Ruger P97. I makes a BIG boom and is quiet impressive from the muzzle end.
The DAO one has no extrenal levers, except for the slide release..no external safety, and has very smooth lines so it would make a wonderful carry gun if I didnt live in the "free state". I think I got a very good .45 for $390.

Has anyone handled or bought one of the FN 49 pistols that are advertised in SGN now. They look good and if its FN I would dare to say that it was put together well.

I started with handguns (specifically pistols), so I'm a little heavier in that group than rifles and shotguns:

Pistols
Colt Delta Elite
Smith & Wesson #1006
Ruger P-90
Ruger Mark II
Ruger Mark II
Beretta 21 A
Glock #20
Beretta 92 F
SIG-Sauer #229
Glock #22
Ruger P-95
Heckler & Koch USP
Browning Hi-Power
Smith & Wesson #1026
Walther PPK
SIG-Sauer #228
Kimber Custom Classic
Colt Combat Elite
Heckler & Koch Model 4
Heckler & Koch P9S
SIG P210 / 49
Beretta Model 84
Heckler & Koch P7 PSP

Revolvers
Ruger Super Blackhawk
Ruger GP-100
Ruger Vaquero
Colt SAA (1st. Gen)

The bulk of them are in "cold" storage out of state until I finish school. A few are on extended loan to shooting relatives so they will get used. The remainder are stored near where I live (can't have handguns here), so I can shoot on occasion.

None yet but I've been eyeing up a SIG P220. I like that gaping ejection port and the smooth feel. I would go for an H&K USP .45 instead but I don't like the slide release.

My favorite so far is definately Sig Sauer P229 in .40S&W. Wow! What a gun!
Also have the .45 P97 Ruger, only 8 rnds. or I would like it more.
Really want a FN. Been looking at the new DA's in .40. The 9mm thing is just too small for me.

Farmer, I saw those FN Fourty Nine's at a gun show and kind of liked it and the price was good, less than $400. The thing I don't like is the double action on every shot. I can see me owning one someday.
