An idea for a thread* So what did you do in your garage/shop/basement today? Not a gun thread, I know that may be a tall order given the state of the Flea Market but oh well.

You've finished the job, put the tools away, swept up, and washed your hands. Now you're enjoying the adult beverage of your choice and find that you've sprained your shoulder due to an excessive amount of patting yourself on the back. Share it here.

(* not my idea)

I guess I'll start. Had a busy weekend in the garage, replaced the fuel pump in my S10 Saturday, instead of dropping the tank I lifted the bed, found a video on youtube. Easy, you tilt it back like a dump-truck, two hours from start to finish.. Yesterday I changed the oil in my bike's trans and final drive, then I synced the throttle bodies. Throttle body sync is one of those tasks that reap huge dividends IMHO. You take the bike out for a test ride afterwards and find yourself grinning from ear to ear in the helmet, 'least I always do.

This was a multi-day ass kicking. I started Thursday on the hardware and software modification on my VW TDI. I thought I was ready. Rust and corrosion thought otherwise. I endeavored to persevere and got it done Saturday just before dinner. I let the battery charger top off the battery while I ate, then went for a test drive. Shit-eating grin permanently installed while driving now.

I also started my portable reloading stand/bench/abomination during some downtime on Friday. I'll try to finish it today. Thanks for the idea, @yellowhand .

@Abominog , I had a FB Marketplace lookie loo do that to me. I have some old snow tires on factory Kia wheels for sale. Lady asks about them as she was desperate for something that is round, rubber, and holds air with a semblance of tread. I load them up in the back of my Treg in anticipation of meeting her at a local store parking lot. No show.

I did sell the tires off my daughter's Rogue to a couple that also happened to have a Rogue. I put All-Weather tires on her car and sold the still good All Seasons.

I have 2 large wooden ships bought at auction that I am preparing for a flaming destruction; a well done batttleship and an aicraft carrier. Someone spent many hours making them, they are 40+ inches long. I have to waterproof them, add ballast to get them to float with an even keel and then load them up with pyrotechnics and explosives for a waterborne armegeddon, all to be filmed in high reolution for spectacular slow motion destruction. I hope to have them ready for spring. I need to get a float cell set up to test buoyancy, maybe a blow-up swimming pool.

Ballast is key. We had one anchored at the pond at work and it survived hellacious storms.

I did what Valmet did. Drank a cup of coffee and, hung up the titty calendar in my garage from my favorite grease monkey garage that does my engine work on Old Yeller.
Since I can’t show a picture of my calendar. She looks like a beat up old pick up truck but, acts like a rocket ship. I love Old Yeller.

Got lots I need to do, but ain't done shit. The realization that I may have to have surgery done on my knee is starting to sink in seeing as how it's kept me pretty much couch bound for two weeks. Hard to get shit done in the garage when I can't do much more than hobble around. I wanted to get some shooting done, too. Can't get down to the target board.

I can feel your pain from here. My left knee was bone on bone before I had a knee replacement last January. The surgery is not bad, the therapy afterwards is everything. Still have some numbness and occasional pain.

Also, I helped my son string new sheaths and cables on a vintage mountain bike he has restored for his use.

For the last few weeks, I have been going through 50-plus years of accumulated stuff from my old wooden frame garage that is in the process of falling down thanks to termite damage from a few years ago. Getting a 24-wide by 30-foot deep by 10-foot tall metal building built in the next couple of months.

I had to re read this to make sure I was reading it correctly.

You are my hero for today. That sounds like so much fun.
