Crew change time at the Milwaukee depot in Othello Wa. In 1975. At the time the overhead was out of use but still energized at 3K volts DC to discourage copper theft.
Another shot of the Othello depot in 1980 after the Milwaukee abandonment, BN was operating the line to keep the industrial customers going. The white stuff is ash from Mt. St. Helens eruption . 1856 was based at Wheeler Wa. for most of the 80s. I even got to ride it once in 1983 while it switched a grain elevator track.

The rail yard and Huber breaker in Ashley, Pa., twenty years before my birth. This is Wyoming valley Pa. the home of Blue Coal. I don't ever remember seeing the round house, but I have stomped all over the rest of those places in this picture.
