This may be the only photo ever taken of the short-lived Harbor Logging Company logging railroad on Whidbey Island, Washington. This company only operated from 1906 until 1908. They only had one locomotive and this is her.
Notice that the roadbed is actually large timbers laid on the ground with fairly small planks used for cross ties.
Portable railroad. Take it up and move it along as they progress.
