The Italians loved those tri engine planes and the pilots who flew them thought they must have been fighters from what I read about them- I need to get a couple 1/48 scale italian ww2 plane models and build them up. The late war Italin fighters were pretty good with at least 1 pretty much matching the later Messerschmitts in performance(?) Anyway some cool planes.

The Italian fighters were generally very pretty aircraft, and apparently quite capable in the hands of a good pilot It's a shame more weren't preserved..
