Anyone have any experience with suppressed AUG's? I fired a friends tavor suppressed and it was horrible. Lots and lots of gas right into your face.

I was thinking maybe they could benefit from a gas plug with a custom port size. Or are they good to go as is?

Thanks guys.

Took a bunch of friends shooting a few months back. One of the guns was my AUG with the suppressor gas plug installed. It was the favorite rifle of the day with everyone. Minimal blowback and a blast to shoot. Obviously not movie quiet with M193 but it really knocks the edge off.

Thanks guys! I'll post a little something up once i get a mount for my suppressor on the AUG.

Did you guys buy your gas plugs or have them made? Any idea what the port size was for suppressed fire?

Before factory manufactured suppressor gas plugs were available some guys drilled their own but now most everybody gets them from PJ's.

I shoot my A3 with an SDN-6 using the factory gas plug. It's a joy to shoot and like jaflowers said, it knocks the edge off of 5.56.

Ya, I wasn't terribly impressed with AAC.

I got the muzzle device mentioned above and it mounts my YHM Ultra light titanium correctly.

The AUG balances like a dream with this setup, can't wait to shoot it.

That's the way to go. I used the Ratworx thread adapter which added 1oz and 3/4" to the barrel and then put on my TBAC flash hider for using my Ultra 7 on the rifle. It balances great and I really don't notice the weight change at all.
