Well last year I bought this from a shop. Got it for like 500 bucks. It’s a A2xxx serial JLD that someone had tried to install a paddle release on and well, botched it. They essentially cut off the entire shelf area. I did a very crappy quick fix and sold the rifle off after not liking my handy work lol.Well I stopped buy local shop where I sold it and there it was on the shelf. Ugly as all hell.Well I’m in a better place now financially and I wanna get this thing fixed by a good smith. Who would y’all send your to.

Well I took it out today. It works just fine lol. My fix is ugly but functions. One thing found out is the original owner stole all the German/contract parts out of the gun and replaced em with 2015ish ptr parts. Bolt gap it’s .021 without pulling the trigger and .020 with. I took 5 different boxes of ammo with me so 100 rounds. Barnaul steel cased 308, Winchester m80, mag tech m80 and fgmm 168 and 175s. It ate everything and just as accurate at my m1a National match lol.

The grip covers the repair area anyway, right?
I say run it as-is.
Have it professionally refinished if you cant suppress the urge to spend some money on it.
Or buy more ammo instead!

I took everyone’s advice and filled it with an all Hk bcg I got in here, Hk c&p grip frame and a “broken”(needed a new $7 recoil rod) hk collapsable. It’s my new favorite by far.
