I got one in round 2 and was tempted to go for round 3 but was informed once you get one that's it. No more. I thought it was 1 per round. Oh well.

I'm glad I got in on round 2. The price already bothered me but its no doubt my favorite pistol. I think these are $200 more expensive, but given inflation and the fact that the world is going to shit, if you want one get one.

Is there an organization you guys know of that has quick and easy on-line membership so I can get my order form in the mail tomorrow. Looking at their the CMP website the easiest one looks like www.uspsa.org. I'm sure someone out there has gone through the same thing, let me know if you have any ideas??

Glad to see they aren't feeding them to the shredder.

I'm not collecting pistols any more.

At this point, all I'm collecting is $100 bills. And most of those is bills from somebodys else who is wanting $100 from me.

Can you submit an order for an M1 and an order for a 1911 in the same envelope?

Can they go on the same form? This will be my first time for both.

The last time I held a military 1911 in my hands was the summer of 1992 at Quantico VA. My summer of hell at OCS. The Standard bearer was issued one to carry instead of his M16 A2 for our graduation parade. It looked like hell and the internal parts literally rattled when you shook it. I'm sure CMP culls out that garbage though.

These pistols were the best of the best and had been kept in long term strategic reserve, just like the best of the Beretta M9s will be.

I got one of the Service Grade pistols in Round 1…..looks like it was overhauled and put straight into storage. Only down side is the markings are a bit on the thin side from the refinish.

If you want original finish you are better off with a Rack or Field grade.

I sent my packet in on Wednesday. I also sent in a different packet for a Rack Grade M1. At $650 it was a no brainer for me.

Most seem to say that to get a 1911 that hasn't been completely overhauled, get a Service Grade. But it is probably a huge crap shoot at this point.

When your number comes up they offer you whats currently available. In my case only rack grade was offered, take it or leave it. I think I did well and saved a couple hundred too.
For sure, I'll just likely take whatever they give me.

What did you end up getting as a Rack Grade?
