Picked up a SA 1944 receiver Garand. Looks like it’s been nicely refinished and sets in a CMP replacement stock. My question is how to id the barrel maker. There’s no markings where I usually see them when the charge handle is retracted. Haven’t taken off the rear hg to check the top of the barrel. Ideas? Thanks. 0A1CF17E-45AE-4383-95E6-B7B056C78109.jpeg

You may have a replacement barrel on your rifle. Usually, the maker can be identified in the Op Rod slot, but you will need to remove the Hand guard to check the top of the barrel.
My ‘42 Garland had a Marlin barrel and only marked on top.
