Was going to scope it up but decided to stay as light as possible with a red dot and backup irons that can be used through the glass. The trigger is not great for precision shooting anyway, though its way better than the Tavors. Hows the quality of the barrels on these...I assume made at US facility?

Needs a translucent mag, doesnt it?

I'm using on mine a Nikon M-223 scope that I got back in 2013.

I don't think a red dot would do on an AUG, but to each his own.

Regarding changes / customizing, I went with a Manticore arms 3-prong muzzle device, which still supports bayonets.

I did not at all care about the tulip style muzzle device.

Charging handle is a larger one for my big paws.

On the main pistol grip is a rubberized grip tape by Talon Grips, as the original is way too smooth
for my likes.

Charging handle is Manticore Arms MA-100.

I reversed the rear takedown sling pin to use a blue force adjustable sling that hold the buttock in closer. Being right handed it moves the pin away from my face. Plus I red taped the magpul styer mags so they won't get mixed up with my AR mags

I don't own any AR, so no problems there. My mags are all Steyr translucent, and all are equipped with a magpul.

I have enough Steyr mags in 42 and 30 but picked up some window magpul mags too. At $19 it was good to keep extra. I am putting together another AR for my daughter and when I pass on I don't want her to get confused on which mags are hers. Red tape on mags and red tape on forward handle. I have shown her the difference.

I've heard that barrels for the US market were made by FNH USA, so no worries there.

On mine the tulip style muzzle device needed to go. Too much show, the star pattern flash coming out of it.

The 3-prong muzzle device is MUCH better. Only a small puff of smoke, that's it.

Decided a different direction...had a PA 1-8x with ACSS reticle that was kind of ugly (had some ring scuffing in locations I couldnt hide in this setup) but had an ephiphany while Duracoating some G3 furniture with OD green, so I carefully masked the lenses, illuminator scale, and rear bell up and sprayed the tube and turret covers OD green this morning. Rings are ARMS qd with the adjustable levers to the right side for obvious reasons.

This gun takes regular M16 / AR mags....do any of the US made AUGs require the proprietary original mags?
