There's decades of lore about the sights on HK rifles (and, I guess that's WHY it's "lore", cuz it goes on for decades, lol)... and supposedly there's some specialized Brownell's tool for "opening up" the rear sight aperture?... because it's "too small"... say WHAAAAAT!?

I'm pretty sure retro-fitting Garand sights is not an option, so what say ye, RKIs?

I like the HK sights. They are easy to use once zeroed, fast and accurate enough providing you are using the aperture vs the V notch.
I loathe the HK rear sight elevation tool, however. I have a specific pair of needle nose plier that I use because that tool is a PITA.

Yep. The 300 yard aperture is perfect and the front sight hood makes centering your sights quick and easy. Youre only about 4.5 or so high at 100 yards. IMHO the only battle rifle with better sights than a G3 is a Garand or M14 with a NM rear. The Swiss were wise to copy the HK sights on the STG90. The SCAR, VHS / Hellion and a couple others have the same nice sight picture but the front sight is kind of spindly just like any set of flip up BUIS

Well since he mentioned the rear sights I'll ask a question. Someone please explain the windage adjust process. The manual says "Point of impact left", does that mean "If the point of impact is left of point of aim" or "To move the point of impact left"?

Well I suppose I could have worded my question better. It was a grammar question, not a method question. I'll try again.

I received that manual with the 33 Jeff built. I just got around to opening it and the windage adjustment explanation made me chuckle. What do they mean?
The elevation change instructions are very clear. The windage instructions are oddly vague. A translation issue? Does the German language manual make sense to German's? I cant be the only one who read that and thought "huh?" Maybe I am.

I've got the rifle shooting just fine, even with my crappy eyes.
