I'm not interested in disassembling my really loose rear drum etc.

Nobody responded to this question so I just ( this minute) ordered this complete rear sight unit, and maybe it is as complete as the staff described.
You would still need the a) gun's Upper screw to secure a new assembly, plus the b) large windage knob.. :cautious:Some of my confusion is/was because HKparts sells about four different versions, and one shows about six tiny, separated parts in the photo.

:cautious:If by some small chance there is an issue when it arrives, maybe I'll create a thread over at HKpro, which specializes in so many unique guns.

I saw your post on HK parts about no detent.

Using the link you provided, you will need everything except for the rotor, and need to either salvage those parts from your old sight, or get new ones.

Here is a link with everything provided, the little coil spring and ball bearing are what gives you the distance detents
Complete rear sight for g3

Thanks a bunch Bwana John.

The other guy also provided the info. The original assembly which was on the PTR was removed tonight after he reassured me that nothing would fly into Stephen Hawking's string-theory dimensions.

The spring is straight but there is no ball. His was pretty visible in a photo he texted. He will mail me an extra ball to be captured by the spring.
Your time and info is always appreciated.

Make sure the ball bearing is not at the bottom of the hole glued in with old grease.
I use a little extra new grease on the ball and spring to keep them captive when reassembling.
