I have just purchased a 75 P-01 Omega. The gun is visually appealing and probably has the best grip/point ability of any pistol or revolver I have owned. The sights are inadequate for my aging eyes but that is correctable. The real issue is the trigger pull … the DA is unreadable on a Lyman gauge and the SA is a mediocre 4.5 lbs. The hammer drop and slide release are also VERY difficult to activate. I am hopeful a Cajun trigger kit (which are currently unavailable) will fix the problem. Any suggestions.

CZ75 P-01 Omega

I have installed the CGW trigger kits on two of my CZs. My Shadow got the single action only kit and the trigger pull comes in at about 3½ pounds with no over travel and very little creep. My SP01 got the SA-DA CGW kit and both SA and DA pulls were reduce significantly along with being shortened up. My P09 has the factory Omega trigger system and it is almost as good as the CGW after market kits. But the DA trigger pull is very long but has a loading point that allows me to stop and verify on target before follow through. SA pull is around 4 pounds and not as crisp as the CGW kit. But I like it and will not change that one out.

The Omega triggers aren’t as good as the older 75b style trigger mechanism (I've shot both). They simplified it and used more stamped parts to make it cheaper. The CGW kits tend to be the answer for improving the trigger for most people. I shoot a Sig P229 mostly (don’t have a CZ yet) and it takes a LOT of practice for me to shoot the DA/SA trigger well.
The CGW short pull kit really makes up for that long and hard double action pull on the CZ. The one I installed on my SP01 is fantastic and I can shoot DA first round with no issues. The Omega trigger system isn't is good or as light as the CGW kit, but since it loads up right before break, I can shoot it accurately too. Just not as fast for first shot. It harkens back to my revolver shooting days when you pulled the trigger till it loaded up, then made sure the sights were on the target, then pull through. Not many young people have spent much time with revolver shooting since they aren't as tactical as a semi. But my first issued weapon as an LEO was a S&W Model 64.
I acquired a CGW trigger kit. I have to say this trigger job did not go smoothly as most do.. Tools; assortment of punches, hammer, Phillips screwdriver, small flat screwdriver , flat screwdriver modified with slot, tweezers, fabricate slave pins. All this a reminder of Browning’s 1911 masterpiece that requires only a flat screwdriver to remove grips. I suggest not launching the mainspring and plug across a cluttered room as I did. Plugs are nowhere to be found at the moment. In any case trigger pull is now 4 & 9 lbs and much smoother. Still need decent sights but I may not bother as I don’t think this gun is going to receive much love,
