You see pics all over the net showing different scopes mounted on these rifles , does anyone know if this specimen is correct to the rifle? Mount is definitely the original, scope I’m 99% sure is legit and correct / original to these rifles, but ,,, never seen one before .. anyone else came across it before ?

No idea, but it's a shame the AR-70 was never allowed to come to the States in significant quantities thanks to our idiot politicians (sorry for the redundancy). I would really love to have one in my safe.

I've been collecting photos of AR70 mounts and scopes over the years but haven't seen that scope before. I've seen the mount a couple of times and they are pretty rare. I think it was some limited production commercial product. If there were any in military uses, they probably would have used the STANAG type mounts like this. What you have is probably the same mount, just with scope rings attached. Very nice.

And of course the most common B Square type:

I searched for years (unsuccessfully) for one of those mounts and ended up just making my own STANAG mount to accept the Hensoldt Z24.

Absolutely gorgeous and rare.
I would say period correct--- the Valmet M78/83S utilized 1 of 2 scopes--- one being the Mauser 4x40 Electro Point Mark X (manufactured by Hakko- Japan), and both rifles having a contemporaneous import period.
I am not certain that Italy actually adopted a specific scope for the Beretta AR70.
The Electro Point scopes were more of a commercial venture.

Did military AR70's ever get scope base mounts ?
Both commercial sport models I owned had receiver attached scope bases from Beretta, but none of the 4 military parts kits I've had have the scope bases attached, their just sheet metal.

My 2 cents- Hakko was perfectly capable and willing to make their scopes with direct Stanag attachment points, so that probably wouldn't have been a standard scope for the rifle. Just a commercial selection with those rings. A Hensoldt is the somewhat boring, but probably most accurate idea for what the Military would have used on them for scopes. And then looking at early Aimpoints or Kerns for red dots.

There's an AR70 mount on GB right now fyi.

Does anyone know if these mounts work on the 70/90 or no? The only 70/90 specific mount I've seen is an out of production Trijicon mount.

On the AR70/90 these don’t fit , you can use something like this
