A serious question about IWB carry while wearing suspenders.

I’m curious if anybody else that’s of slender build that wears suspenders has any positive suggestions about wearing IWB when wearing suspenders and, no belt, a successful way of maintaining your holsters position. With an absence of a belt all of my current use holsters have a standard clip that is metal or ABS that clips over the belt and some of them have a little hook that clips over the belt. I’ve ordered some Warfytr fabric clips that are supposed to grip the fabric a bit more and it’s made for such an application. I’m curious if anybody else has had some experiences they would like to share that work for them.

I risk a faux pas and wear a belt with my suspenders. I am told Tom Cruise’s suits in “Collateral” had a reinforced waistband to aid in beltless IWB carry.

I have IWB holsters but in Georgia where open carry is legal and common a bit of patterning when concealed is not a huge deal. 99% never notice patterning and the 1% who do probably need to realize your not a target. I am very thin and wear armor every day which adds an element to carry this just use a Level 2 or 3 retention holster on belt and cover with untucked shirt.

My best IWB holster blew a snap last time worn and need to drop it off for repair. In fact going to put it in pile next to door soon as finish post and take it to my leather repair shop today. Also adding buying a new belt to today's list of chores as dropped five pounds since heat of summer set in and favorite best is to last hole with lots of tail flapping.

Edit:
Just getting dressed and foot hurts so bad not going to work today. Made appointment with foot specialist and going to see how bad its really hurt before i mess it up worse. Don't thin my pajamas will support an IWB holster...

Wearing a belt with suspenders is not uncommon. Those that wear suspenders usually are in two camps: those whose physique will not stop a belt from sliding down to their knees (no ass) and those whose physique forces the belt below their waist and lower (beer belly). The suspenders are to provide extra support to hold your pants up and not looking like an inner city thug. They make some good looking suspenders that clip onto a belt instead of clamping down on your pants waist seam or attaching to buttons sewn onto your pants.

There is also another category and that is people like me who are slender and have barely enough ass to hold their pants up but also have some nerve damage issues and I don’t want a belt encircling my waist. It’s gotten to the point of being uncomfortable to wear a belt, thus the suspenders.

I have significant sciatica with discomfort from left hip all they say into foot. Also have huge issues with lumbar spine but found swapping to wideset belt can get through belt loops that's super stiff or has integral stiffener allows me to keep using belt as have three key rings keep on belt mounted fob and two spare mags with my EDC pistols.

If need a bigger multitool than fits left front pocket then the bigger tool goes on belt but most days get by with Leatherman that clips into my pocket. More I carry in pockets seems to cause more issues. Have to take wallet out of rear pocket if driving more than twenty minutes. Have two wallets, bigger one with all my trade licenses and such lives in console. Carry wallet just has cash, I.D., insurance cards and credit cards.
