Best price I saw locally is $0.40/round for brass. Online I can beat that, specially when ordering 1K+ rounds. i sometimes buy a box off my favourite LGS just to support him, like a box of 158gr 357Magnum to continue my research on my SAA issue.
Checking ammoseek about an hour ago. Looks like it's hovering around 35 per once you factor in shipping on decent brass stuff. Add more if the outfit charges sales tax. Not a lot of deals out there. I'm not in a hurry. I haven't shot the 350 I bought last year and have 5 cases put away.
Be careful when you order online. Even supposedly legitimate dealers can hose you. I recently ordered 200 rounds of 5.56mm M193 made by PMC at a good price - $9.99 a box of 20. Then they charged sales tax, and $25 for handling and shipping. Turned out not to be such a great deal after all. Still (just very slightly) cheaper than buying locally, but not a great deal.
I check Ammoseek a few times a week but buyer beware - use caution when ordering from unknowns who don't take credit cards, answer phone calls. Once in a while I've been able to snag primers or powder from recognized dealers, but I still prefer doing nose-to-nose business. You can set an alert from Ammoseek but you gotta be ready to jump when the notice comes in.
Also if you use a VPN, you must use a USA connection. I keep forgetting and try logging in from Europe or South America.
Surprisingly, I was on GB yesterday and bid on some Win white box 147 gr JHP. After shipping and tax came out to 55 cents each for 500. I cross checked on ammoseek and indeed was about 10 cents less. They refresh the listingsand have cases of white box 115 gr up. The auctions end in a day. Molly's is the vendor
Placed my first order with True Shot last week for 1000 rounds of SAR 124gr “NATO” . 5 days from order to delivery. Came in shipped at just under $0.32 a round. Typically prefer a lighter bullet but we’ll see how this shoots for the price.
CCI 3509 Blazer Aluminum 9mm/115GR FMJ Shoot more for less with Blazer Aluminum. The loads feature aluminum cases to keep price to a minimum and offer reliable accurate performance for training at the range. Bucking Horse Outpost does not ship ammunition to Alaska, California, Connecticut...
I just got about 5k round of 9mm and .40 S&W from SG Ammo. Free shipping over $200. The 9mm came out to about .34/rd. Bulk Ammo .com was advertising 299/k, but the shipping put it right back at .34/.35. SG Ammo has always done a good job for me and you can't beat their .50 BMG prices!
Primers by dumb luck yes. New old stock I've had for years.
For full disclosure a have a lee pro 1000 for 38 sp and a load master set up for 9mm. The pro 1000 works pretty well with its quirks but the load master is a nightmare.
