I inherited Dad's Mitchell Mauser after his passing. From what I can glean, it's likely fake, so will become a shooter. He also had a bunch of 32 caliber jacketed bullets. 8mm is technically .323, so will these .321 bullets pass for blasting fodder?

It will be something like shooting .308" bullets in a .303 British; it makes noise, and it may even hit the target - as long as the target isn't too far away.

I had a Mitchell's Mauser years ago. The price was right, and I knew it was not the real deal. Well-made and a great shooter.
Don't expect a tack-driver with .321 bullets, but that should be some cheap blasting ammo.

They will likely shoot fine, bigger issue is you might not have enough neck tension for them to stay in place. If they seem loose, course of action would be to polish down your decapping rod, or swap it out with one from a 32 special...

150 grain .323 diameter Hornaday Interlock bullets would be your better choice for reloading... they work well in two different Yugoslav M24/47 Mauser rifles we have.

I kinda considered doing that. I'll get a spare, as I also have an 8mm mould for casting lead pills for it. I'll need a bit larger diameter there, I've had better luck driving a bit larger OD cast lead.

Back in the 1970s, I bought a couple of thousand .30 Cal. bullets from someone on the Shotgun News.
Turns out they really were .30 Cal., like .300". They were actually 7.35 Carcano bullets (128gr). The bullet weight should have been a give-away but, being stupid, it didn't connect in my brain.
I ended up shooting a lot of them in .308 Win., mostly in an HK91. They actually shot pretty well with full power loads. That might be partially because of the construction of the bullet, where the base could be 'bumped' enough to expand to fill the bore (more or less).
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...
