Does anyone remember an AK website like this?
Does anyone remember an AK website like this?
I remember there being a website back in 2009 or 2010 that was based on the AK. I don't remember if it was a store. I think it had collector information.
It had a lot of great photography on it. It was darker colored. Like a black or night theme. I remember it had photos of different types of magazine pouches. Maybe some Arsenal stuff on there. It may have had other older equipment that a soldier or spetnaz would have. I want to say Kobra red dots?
The photography is what I really liked. I know this is a weird question, but does anyone remember a site like that? I haven't come across it in years. I think it was well known.

If it had Kobras and was very informative, perhaps it was Tantal's site.
Edited to add: I had dialup then and I have dialup now - pictures are overrated.

Yes, I think it was Tantal's? I'm not seeing it via a Google search. I did come across http://www.avtomats-in-action.com. That's not it but maybe it's related. What I remember was even cooler looking.SYNCHRONICITY wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 12:48 amIf it had Kobras and was very informative, perhaps it was Tantal's site.

No. Not even close. I haven't found the site yet. That's sad if it no longer exists. I want to say the photography blew away anything posted above. The entire page was a dark colored theme. It showed a lot of equipment that was laid out and photographed nicely. It was as if some special forces group had a bunch of their Russian gun stuff laid out in a room.
It has been a decade. I could be wrong about some of that.

I used to go to www.world-guns.net back in the early 2000's, at least I think that was the address.

Still crazy after all these years!

Speaking of old AK discussion boards, There was one back in the early 2000s that had a moderator that went by CampyBob and Chief Thunder sold Bulgarian waffle mags for what is now dirt cheap. What was the name of that board?

Was that Gunsnet, bychance? Users like Hondo ( with his rusted to blank guns),Ebob, Iamanaknut, and the Roadhouse are kinda hard to forget.
EDIT:After a quick search, that was indeed Gunsnet. I spent too many years and evenings on that forum. Chief Thunder is in jail from what they said there.
Re: Does anyone remember an AK website like this?
Yep it's still there. But it's not a like it use to be. I'm still there as is other old timers are still there. Sad really. At one time that was the AK site to visit.
