Confirmation bias: although the Senate committee found no evidence of collusion in a multi-year investigation that interviewed hundreds of witnesses and reviewed over a million pages of documentation, the mere fact that they found evidence of Russian meddling and sketchy links between the Russians a couple members of the campaign (i.e. Manafort) confirms the idea for some that Trump was surely acting in collusion with the Russians and that the Russians are puppet masters pulling the strings.
