an old Chest of Drawers....with 3 large drawers.
It's 40" x 18" with ample drawer space for Barrels, Receivers, Furniture & Mics; parts etc:
Suddenly 'The Penny Dropped', why not put a Vice inside the house and bolt it to the top of the chest of drawers.
I suppose it might be possible with enough weight in the chest, but I'm not seeing that work unless bolted to the floor. YMMV.
There's probably a min of 200 lbs in the Cabinet Drawers......plus the weight of the chest.
Gonna give it a try anyway....nothing to loose, plus, I don't think the wife will let me drill holes in the wood flooring
I looked on his website and only found an article on how to assemble the gas block. I really want to learn how to build this thing, but sending it to ARS is my last resort option. Anyone have other suggestions?
I guess I missed it on there, aprreciate it. I will most likely buy this when the DSA barrel and reciever come back in stock. This guide will work for the Israeli FAL too right?
I got my 3rd yesterday. Kinda bummed that I didnt get a vertical takedown lever on any of the 3. The last kit was in excellent condition, though. Great finish on everything, paint in the numbers on the gas regulator and selector markings, and the bolt and carrier on this one are all FN made with the original serial numbers still on them (and matching as well)

Damn...matching S/N BCG & FN
That alone is almost worth the price of the kit !!!!!!!
The site was showing 36 available after I made my second order last night. Now down to 23. Might not last through the day.
I'd primarily gone for StG, with some Imbel kits for backup parts. I didn't even know I wanted an Israeli FAL. Now I have more parts sets than available uppers. This site costs me too much money.
Was right on schedule today for delivery of Kit #2.....3 days in transit and all seemed well.........Oh wait, this is UPS we are talking about..........DELAYED due to a sorting error! Ground service on the weekend is a NO, so now my "poorly packaged" (from experience) treasure will have to endure 2 more days being bounced around in UPS "custody!" Needless to say I am thrilled! LOL! Such is life......."Hurry up and wait!"
Damn me, got a box in today, will now need to check with Mark and see how backed up he is.:)LOL
Wood not that bad, out to the shop it goes, now, if I can just find that spare STg barrel hiding out, somewhere.
DSA only ones making receivers now?????
Without a doubt, probably the BEST kit of the 3 that I received. I love the visible markings on the lower and the yellow surplus sticker on the stock. Handguards look great as well...very pleased. I guess I just got lucky...now..the wait for the receivers and barrels begins...

Well heck. I went on PSA's site to order some FH crush washers and accidentally ordered another Izzy kit too.
If this one is in as good condition as the previous 3 I'll be ecstatic. Getting 4 nice in a row may be pushing my luck though. Who knows I might get a type A stock this time or at least a type B.
I picked up my DSA Izzy receiver last night and started to hand fit one of my two kits together. Thought some of you might enjoy a photo. I think this one will go together nicely.
I've not cleaned anything yet, just did a parts inventory and pressed the gas block off the barrel stub. The guy who did the transfer paperwork happened to have a brand new non-bipod cut barrel in his shop. It's US made but not sure of it's origin, the price was right (if it shoots). Always good to have another barrel and it will count as another US made compliance part.
The DSA receiver seems to be correct. I've had relatively good luck with my DSA receivers.
If anyone in Western Washington state would like some help assembling their kit, I'm happy to host a build party next month after the wheat harvest is over.
I live in Western Washington (west of Olympia in GH County), and should have an FAL kit showing up shortly. I also have an 80% milling box for ARs, complete with fluid pump and chip straining, if you are interested in doing an 80% lower in exchange for your knowledge. AK Tools as well.
Well it looks like they are GONE. I bought 4 of these 1 at a time LOL.Kept telling myself "just one more" Have gotten 3 in so far and pleased with them all. None quite as nice as the nicest kits I have seen posted here BUT I did get one with an open ear gas block and a parked lower with a vertical locking lever. My last kit arrives Tuesday. This was FUN and I haven't even built one yet!!

I must have got in just in time this afternoon then. Sad to see them all gone though, For some reason it was a good feeling to see FAL kits back on the market at a decent price.
Although I think Sarco may still have some left. Their price is higher though.
How do you identify a 'Type-A' Lower ?
I understand Type's 1, 2 & 3 for the recoil plate....but not Type's A or whatever ?
Graham.
Graham,
Look at the first and second picture from James_Green42 above. Where the ferrule meets the lower you'll see a vertical cut. That's for the wood of the type A buttstock to overlap onto the lower.
