Used to work with a guy who married a Russian gal who was Orthodox. I guess it's a thing for the men to all grow beards so he grew one, or at least tried. He was always bragging about his beard even though it looked like shit. If you can't grow a decent beard...DON'T TRY, cause it looks like shit. He looked like a homeless garden gnome. I've got the arms of an Orangutan but my beard looks like crap so, clean shaven it is.
