So where do they crap? Or take a bath? Do they have electricity on the island?
If nobody makes any money,I wonder how it's paid for?
I see in Africa, where they shit fight out in the sand on the public beaches.

They crap in the outhouse.

They bathe in the Pacific or the stream.

There is electricity on the island, it’s paid for by those have it in their house, those who exchange hours of life for cash.

Please discuss.

Warlords and tyrants make sure alot of folks stay impoverished. And most folks arent willing to throw off those folks that rule them. We are no exception. We have had an unbelivable opportunity given to us by great men, and now we let complete shit mouthed demons control us. Humanity is fked up.

Okay

Personal experience in rural Mindanao:

Wife has power but it's subject to day long brown outs
Shower is solar heated
when the grid is down she has a hand pump
Toilet is a regular one
She actually prefers to cook over charcoal

She is a school teacher
monthly wage is 5000 peso. that works out to roughly $200 which I supplement as needed

Living costs are dirt cheap, she has her own Avacado and other fruit trees in her yard. Has Chickens, Ducks and Geese. Our greatest costs are her Wifi and the daughters martial arts classes

Poor folks live in Nipa huts yet everyone seems to have cell phones
Tech is crazy expensive, Iphones for example are unheard of as are Macbooks. Other brands though are common

In villages there may be a handful of people with wifi who usually run impromptu internet cafes to help cover the costs or share connection with neighbors

Same is true of tree fruits. Neighbors usually share

Truth is that America was a great deal like this up into the 20th century
people were often poor as dirt however in many ways we were "better" as a culture.

Yes we have more today in material things but we lost much in getting there

Paul brought up his experiences being a medic in SE Asia and he's 100% on the mark. What wasn't mentioned was he carried sterile dressings, antibiotics and pain meds in his pack. Yeah those three simple things made him a great healer

I get a chuckle out of the wife at times
in rural Mindanao well over half of medicine is massage based, actually pretty advanced but incredibly ancient acupressure treatments
plenty of herbal as well

Her father lived to 74', her mom to 87'
both passed in their sleep after raising 12 children
would have loved to have known her dad, he was a child fighter against the Japanese...murdered up a number, tough old Tuba drinking rebel {palm wine}
Charrie describes him as a rude & violent sort of farmer

anyways the premise that two bucks don't buy much is situational in time and space
My 1st job was at the local factory one summer in the 70s, three odd bucks an hour

this goes back to my burger & beer inflation index
in 1980 a twelver of Bud was like four bucks
a pound of burger sixty cents
what are they currently...

Conversely a minty GI 1911 was a $150 gun, P08s maybe $200 for a real cherry one

Like one of my very close friends often remarks, a dollar just ain't worth shit anymore.
well in our culture it really isn't
massive variability elsewhere on the planet

Some spots you can lease a villa with a cook, housekeepers, have a car on call for like $500 or less a month
quite a number of career military seem to go that direction with their pension as bachlors

theres a reason besides the LBFMs
