My 1st camo job...

So, I had this old fiberglass stock & I was bored
I've actually been meaning to do this a while ago but just never got around to it. Anyway for my 1st attempt I think it's pretty good.
I'm definitely gonna buy a few more of these stocks & do a few more patterns, maybe even pay homage to one of ArtBanks blue, green or red stocks!!!!
It was pretty fun & I highly recommend you guys try it out for yourselves, it was even kind of cheap.

Now I gotta get me a fake selector switch to get rid of that annoying hole!!!

The FAL is not a "platform".
It is a lady-lookin' foreign made collection of sexy Belgian curves that intimidates the shit out of today's Pajama-boy males.

It's not an Assault Rifle, it a Sport Utility Rifle

Pretty good, but I really don't think there is enough contrast.

Nothing in there breaks up the outline (even considering stock only)

It's very good "blending" and it looks cool. But I think it needs something more. Something that creates visual noise. Like maybe some branches painted on in a very light, , and then repeated in partial offset in very dark (or the other way around, but easier to dark over light)

Not a lot, maybe 3-4 per side.

That’s the 1st thing I thought of after it was complete. I’m gonna order a few more stock’s & try to improve my technique. It does look cool though & we all know that’s the most important thing!!!!

Thanks for the comments guys

It looks like the paint process people are putting on Chinese made MICH copy helmets then passing off as SEAL/Delta issue on fleabay for an extra $500 after paint and remove made in China decal. That is not a slap as these guys are doing nice paint, actually too nice for most examples I have seen that are genuine USGI operator helmets. It is very detailed and like GP believe is too monotone. Needs some darker contrasting areas to break up the "shape" of the rifle. Unless desert (and much of it needs more contrast) especially if using in a woodland/green environment with leaves, dirt, tree trunks, etc needs some darker blobs or slashes of color to help it not just be a cool looking rifle that stands out if in a mixed color environment.

Both of these have colors from off white in small thin lines to patches or "leaves" of black. The greener rifle has a wide variety of been tones from dark green to light mixed with black and thin lines of white with a little green tint mixed in to keep them from overly contrasting the darker greens and black. Second rifle is white to black with dark gray and black areas. Both almost disappear in the woods around here. Greener rifle is a summer rifle and second works good in winter locally. Your rifle does look nice though.

Some of the best camo jobs have seen were done with rattle cans. Lowe's now carries a camouflage line of spray paints with flat finish and low amount of U.V. brightness to keep colors from fading. I use it on a few of my basic builds and touch up as need. What I like about it is unlike Cerakote or similar products can remove it without damaging the original finish if use correct products properly.
