WTK: NDM-86 import information

While it isnt exactly an AK, I figured this forum would be the best place-

Im looking for info on NDM-86 rifles. Interested in timeframe that they were imported, who their importers were and calibers (Ex: I know BTC imported a bunch in 308, but did they also in 54R)? Id read somewhere a long time ago that South Africa ordered a bunch of them in 308 but due to apartheid, they were unable to be shipped there- and hence made their way to the US (not sure how truthful that is).

Thanks in advance guys.

Here are two sites that should answer your questions. Lots of good info and photos. dragunov.net has quite a bit of info on the importers and numbers imported by each. Hope this helps.
