C7 rifle made in Canada by Dieamco/Colt Canada

Hello,

Please find pictures of my C7 rifle built with Canadian made parts by Diemaco/Colt Canada that I built from a semi-auto lower receiver from Diemaco/Colt Canada. The only difference with mime and the one used by the Canadian Armed Forces is the Auto selection is missing due to Canadian Gun Law. My rifle C7 looks like the first production starting in 1985. The NATO stock number for the real C7A1 is 1005-21-898-7044. The rear sight for this rifle is a flip-type two apertures and the front sight is a round post.

Physical data:

Weight with empty magazine and sling 8 lbs

Lenght with normal buttstock 39.37 in

Barrel data:

Length with compensator 21 in

Length barrel only 20 in

Calibre 5,56 mm NATO

Rifling particulars:

Number of grooves 6

Pitch of rifling 1 turn in 7 in

Direction of twist right hand

Like the Maple Leaf logo and everything about this rifle. Meet somewhere between the U.P. of Michigan and Canadian border on Lake Superior this winter on snowmobiles like some prohibition Era bootleggers with a load of Canadian Club? So many ice climbers running the north shore of the U.P. on snowmobiles sure it will work out just fine till a Border Patrol drone picks up the heat signatures of a north and south bound machine running toward same point somewhere narrow and shallow the icebreakers don't run. ;-)

Nice rifle sir!

Not sure if it would be profitable enough for a taker. Mexican cartels and Hell’s Angels are making much more $$$ bringing Chinese imported Fentanyl across our borders.... and the process is significantly easier than your suggestion.... less effort and significantly less expensive than smuggling heroin across the Mexican border or waterways.

I remember reading that the Canadian Armed Forces originally wanted to use the Colt H-Bar barrel, but Colt wouldn't allow the H-Bar barrel to be produced in Canada.

In the book of R. Blake Steven and Edward C. Ezell "The Black Rifle - M16 Retrospective" page 369 mentioned this fact that Canada proposed a more conventional heavy barrel but Colt refused to approved.
