Aguila minishells
Who has got some experience with Aguila minishells? I thought about buying a box or two, but wanted to check before.
The gun they are to be used in is a Benelli Super90 M3 pump/semiauto. |

Probably won't work in the Benelli. They won't work in a Benelli M4. They do function flawlessly in a Mossberg 590. There is a little rubber piece that you install that allows it to feed properly in the Mossberg. OPSOL mini clip is the adapter. The little minis pack a punch. I use the bird shot for snakes.

They wouldn't work in my M3. 2-1/4" shells will function, but not the ultra-short 1-3/4" of any brand. Too bad the 2-1/4" are so hard to locate.

The only real benny is being able to get a couple extra shells in the magazine tube. Might come in handy. They wouldn't feed in my $1K Benelli M3, pump or semi, but work perfectly in my $200 Chinese Stevens, without any mods.

They work fine in about half of my Brownings but remembering which half can sometimes be a challenge for my aging brain.

Same genius who invented 7.5 & 8 oz soda cans that cost quite a bit more than 12 oz ones.

You'all know you can make your own mini shells too,,, right ?
I think it rates right up there with watching paint dry or reloading rim fire ammo, but it is pretty easy with a roll crimper in your drill press. I did it years ago to feed old short chambered doubles, but I havent loaded any shot shells at all since well before the millennium. Besides actually costing more than store bought, ant' nobody got time for dat,,,,, ![]() |

I hear tell that they work in Winchester 1300 model shotguns, but I have yet to test that theory.

If you are going to stand there and shoot a bunch of 12 gauge in a break-open, those mininshells might be useful to reduce weight. At some point in life, regardless of your level of fitness, reducing weight matters more than it used to.

A long-time friend of mine used to say that Harley motorcycles were half the bike for twice the price.

They are great in a HD gun like the mossberg shockwave. Recoil is like 45 long colt but you’re hurling 5/8oz of buck at 1200 FPS.

After watching the last of the hogs on hogs departing Sturgis for wherever
their pen is, I must confess that they be getting bigger. The bikes are hauling on average 500lbs of owner and dame . Thats why they have hogs, to keep from waddleing down main during the rally week. |

Not to mention what the value of a Harley is going to be 30 to 40 years later. Try buying a nice knucklehead or panhead these days. I can go to lots of rice burner grave yards with piles of 30 to 40 year old bikes that are worth exactly what mixed scrap is bringing on any particular day. Did 1,600 miles in one sitting over about 18 hours on my customized and upgraded suspension 1978 FLH then after a shower and four hour nap put last 700 miles to get it in the barn without undue discomfort. Have ridden all sorts of metric bikes including Suzuki Hayabusas which are only good for the track or the morgue if use them for what their built on the road and after four hours want off and a soft place to lay down. This is an FAL forum, we are supposed to like rusty old temperamental machines that don't shoot any better then 2 to 4 MOA opposed to a rifle that costs half the money and shoots more than twice as accurate. Yes, there were the AMF years with their Jap Bike mentality and no innovation but athe least they kept the brand alive when the other bidder planned to dismantle the company and sell off all the assets corporate raider style. We're recently offered 80% of our invested dollars for the 2007 Road King by someone who had heard about it from dozens of riders in three 1% clubs who talk about the lady on the bagger nobody can reel in once she unleashes the beast. Most of the metric bikes go on a roll back if break down as need a technician to tether them to a computer which guesses the issue. A Harley can usually be fixed on the side of the road with a few had tools and the ride keeps on. We have a fleet and never required a wrecker or trailer to get one home. May have spit and sputtered with a few stops in the shade to wrench some more but they get us where we want to go then back home without complaint. The 73 Wide Glide used to shake a person up well but a set of Progressive shocks and properly rebuilt forks smoothed it right out. It's one of the if it's not bleeding it's not alive models. Have to keep a pan under it.
