Knob Creek - October 2019

Since they cancelled the Vintage two-gun match in Charlotte that weekend, I will probably be at KC on Friday morning.

Who else is going and do you want to have a files meet-up again?

I will be there next spring. I have a work conflict for the Oct shoot.

After years of attending to watch and shop I made friends with some guys with line spots and have been shooting with them for 2 years now. I highly recommend it. Shooting on the line for 2 days straight really elevates the experience.

I'm planning on being there Friday morning unless I get ambushed with work.

Was there from 9am until 1pm. Had a good rain while there. Seemed light on dealers. A buddy of mine had been on th elist for a table for 8 years. KCR called him and het got some tables in the "stables". They told him a fair amount of previous dealers are not doing the show anymore..a few even passed away.
Prices seemed to be up on ammo from April. Got some ammo and did find a new G3 green buttstock assy for $25. Did'nt see any G3 parts other than furniture. Did see a G3 kit for $700 and another for 795 - fook that. All I need is a BCG for a G3/hk91 , can't use the cetme BCG's I have.
Was a good little walk with the family and got to see some buddies.

Sadly I did not make it this morning. I did get back to the US and home last night, but did not get to bed until after midnight, plus have a 6 hour time zone shift. I got up around 6 with the intent of going over, but my body said "no you're not". It's hell to get old, but I suppose it beats the alternative

Light attendance, particularly from our FAL FILES gang. Poured rain Friday, and in the evening dropped from 74 to 49 in three hours. Very cold inside the barn Sunday.

Lots of FAL stuff unsold all around. I had 10 kits, not one sold. 1919a4 stuff hot (it was dead in April) and Mg34 hot as well. Vickers in high demand, zero supply. M60 on fire like Vesuvius.

Big runs on barrels. I heard someone had FAL mags for $5. Plenty at $15. Prototype triangular FAL scope unsold. C1 scope unsold (neither mine).

FAL Primer almost sold out. Seagalís new MG accessory book sold well. All books seemed to sell well. Bunch o nerds!

We got hit by a semi on the drive down. Today some dumbass fired a flare in one of the vendor tents.

Nice meeting people new to me. Great time despite the weather and funky attendance.

Maybe in the fall. Iím out here in Tulsa at the moment and Chuck threw me down the Italian Garand rabbit hole last spring anyway. It will take me a year to recover from that.

"Someone" bought a nice Howco 44 there...
I looked at it last April but I thought it was priced a little high then.

I took a buddy that hadn't been there for close to 20 years. His take was the improvements to the bridge, road, pole barn and concrete was nice for all the flea market sh*t that's now there!

I was there Wed and Fri. Had to ship myself back a pile of ammo and some Tennessee Hills whiskey.

Seems you did well! Iím jealous!

I sold a bunch of stuff, some out of my downsizing collection. Some stuff that I really did not like or want sold, so that was very satisfying.

Came back with the eight kits I posted in MP and my new project: a partial Rhodesian MAG58 kit. I thought I was done with Rhodies. I guess not!
