Buying the history and fame of the movie prop I guess. It sure has been worked over from an original gun.

I was really tempted until I remembered that Harrison Ford is a liberal POS.

Exactly.

I can think of at least 1 million better ways to spend that much money...

That firing pin was worn down from shooting all those swordsmen in Cairo.

For $5 million, that gun will be whatever you want it to be.

I believe Dirty Harry's .44 magnum to be of more importance.

Where is Martin Shkreli when this seller clearly needs him [Shkreli bought the Wu-Tang Clan's album One Upon a Time in Shaolin for several millions].

Oh Snap! He's serving time at Club Fed.

My favorite part is the 3% added charge for using your credit card, by my reckoning that is a $150,000 up charge!

s&w

The first part of the movie was with shot with a 41 magnum .
As to Harrison fords gun.
A firing pin could be re installed - as long as the barrel is in tack it could be reanimated.

It's probably worth more if you leave it as is....there are plenty of S&W 1917s out there in full working order for a lot cheaper....

Nope. The barrel was originally bored out to remove all rifling then when deactivated, it had a metal rod inserted in the barrel, a hole drilled thru from underneath, then the rod welded in place through the hole with that hole then filled with weld. The cylinder was weakened by over boring the holes in the cylinder and the top strap should have had grooves cut in it to weaken it too. That is nothing more than an overpriced paperweight.

And unless they made a 1917 in .41 Mag, I think you're wrong about the first part of the film too.

"or frame or receiver of the same"

It is still a firearm under US law.

The Bapty is now incapable of firing real bullets so it is not classified as a firearm in the United States

I love Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it. I enjoy it every single time I see it.

The gun? Meh. No use or interest in it really...fortunately for me, as I'm a little short of 5 mil at the mo'.

So, you have actually watched the movie melt?

Yeah, right after it came out. It was stupid and corny then. I'd rather watch the Wrath of Khan that I've probably not seen in a decade or so. The stupid movies I like are the Mad Maxx originals.

Hell I tried to sit through that Gump one again with the wife a few months ago on netflix. I had to ask her "now how did that end"? Same with No Country for Old Men. I quit having an attention span for movies when I quit shooting heroin(sarc gman) How the hell someone can sit on the couch that long mystifies me and they bore the hell out of me unless it's good one. So it will take about 2 or 3 evenings to finish a movie if it's a good one.

I might watch an hour of Grit TV 3 or 4 X a week.
