I’ve been a shameless Glock fanboy for a long, long time but as soon as Glock announced this one I knew it would have issues right off the bat. Hope they get the kinks worked out, but I’ll be steering clear.

I have a buddy that works at a decent size indoor range as a gunsmith. Says they got one in and after around 300 rounds it "locked up". He sent me pics of it and the polymer slide had a crack in it near the ejector.

Ayep... legendary, indeed. Time for some more R&D boys.

Love me some Glock, but... like VALMET... glad I was right to skip this in favor of purchasing more 9mm feed.

Did you mean to say EXTRACTOR?

I think MAC posted about his spitting out it’s extractor. There’s also a video of one having an out-of-battery kaboom.

A new pistol having issues is normal, but its odd to see a variety of catastrophic failures so fast.

Seen a couple articles on the same problem. I tend to let others be the Beat-Testers on these things. probably won't be getting one anytime soon.

I would have rather seen Glock kit out a solid .22lr conversion kit. I see a stand alone .22 Glock as a unnecessary novelty.

From a design standpoint you make sense, lockjaw, as the Glock equivalent to the CZ Kadett kit would be sold for as much as this pistol and without all the trouble of registering and serializing it (at least in the US; in Europe it would still be a restricted item) as firearm, and they could make versions for the different frame sizes.

However, I think this one was an exercise of cutting corners and saving money: I bet an aluminum slide version would cost more to manufacture once they paid off the moulds because not only of material cost but also cost of post-casting machining. Somewhere in between price-wise would be Zamak.

I didn’t consider the conversion kit as a way to curb registration.

My thought is that with all the other .22 pistols on the market, a Glock .22 would be mostly embraced by Glock shooters. Glock shooters typically have multiple Glocks... and there are also a plethora of .40 Glocks out there that have fallen out of vogue. Lots of candidates out there for a .22 conversion.

I think Glock shooters would embrace having to be ability shoot and train with a full size and weight gun range that shoots .22 ammo. It would also be a nice “crawl phase” accessory for introducing new shooters. In addition, it would be a fun novelty for plinking.

A 15 ounce .22 dedicated Glock is just a novelty, that apparently isn’t very fun.

Well, I see someone has made a kit for the glock: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/prod...ator?a=1864931

+ Steel slide
- 10 round magazine, probably single stack (I already commented on that before, https://falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=446351).
? Does it work or suck?
+ You can select 17/22 or 19/23.

Looks like I can buy local for $359. I will wait a year and make sure they run good.

From a friend's reviews. After plenty of followup shooting he was not all that impressed with it. Lots of jams. I told him I'd stick with my M&P 22 full size.

Smith and Wesson site says made in USA. Don't care for the Walther model?

I have the Smith and Walther, so I am curious about the Smith & Wesson one. Not to buy but to see if they are different
