Wrong again but thatís ok. I guess doing a Google search about CCT is too hard for you. Try to Google TSgt John Chapman, Medal of Honor recipient. I served on two teams with him.

Now back to the Glocks. I find it hilarious that folks are arguing about Glocks and striker fired pistols. They work like they are supposed to: pull the trigger and it goes bang. Internal passive safeties do not stop the pistol from going off if you pull the trigger thus I donít consider them a real safety.

Personally, I refuse to use striker fired pistols for self defense. I am a fan of manual safeties on my pistols and sold off my 4 Glocks in 1996.

I agree 100% with you on this.

A glock is mechanically similar to a DA revolver with a transfer bar system. Are those unsafe to carry with a loaded chamber too?

That said, its probably is a good idea to keep the chamber clear in most situations in close proximity to kids in a situation like this.

Exactly my point. That is the reason why I sold my Glocks when my daughter was 3 and son was 8. I also sold my two revolvers (DAO modified S&W M28 and S&W 1955 Target in .45 ACP.

Too many chances for kids to get in trouble especially since I didnít keep my home defense pistols in a safe (I wanted them to be readily accessible for the wife and I.

The other reason I chose a pistol with a manual safety was in case I was overpowered by a criminal I could always put the safety on or drop the magazine (I carried a Browning Hi-Power with magazine disconnect for a while) until I could reach my backup pistol. I was just as fast with a Glock as I was with a 1911 or BHP. Just a matter of training.

I still carry handguns with manual safety (Springfield XD in .45 ACP and HK P30S in 9mm.)

Glocks are safe until someone pulls the trigger stupidly and they go off like they are supposed to. This is why these stories about Glocks going off ďaccidentally ď are BS. Just my two cents.

I've told this story here before but....

Once had a moron (who thought he was a genius) try to pick up his Glock with a thumb behind the back strap and finger on the trigger. Said moron was a fellow gun store employee, one who had been granted the title "general manager". Dumbass fired a shot across the showroom and blew a hole in the wall. Right behind the wall with the hole was a major four lane highway and right in front of the wall was a salesman's desk. The bullet hit right about where the salesman's head would have been had he been as his desk.
Not the gun's fault at all but the dumbass who fired it. We never let him live it down and did our best to avoid the ahole when he was handling firearms from then on. Hard to do in a gun store.

Kids do some whacky Shiite. The gun worked as designed. The officerís situational awareness didnít work. Kid needs some Eddie Eagle time.
