Synthetic Browning A5 Stock Set Available

For those who may be considering converting a Browning A5 to a tactical or home defense item, or who just want to spare the original wood from damage, the old Ram-Line synthetic replacement stock set (#55551) is available again under a new manufacturer name, Champion (#78111). These sets are black, pressure molded pieces impregnated with fiberglass. They have have been indicated as out of stock, discontinued, or back ordered on all sites I've checked for a great many months now.

Recently I found that Midwest Gun Works advertises this item as currently available. The price has been upped to $89 (plus $13 shipping to my address), but at least it is available again. I see some guys on resale sites who have been selling this item for up to $300!

My order arrived today (two day shipping). The Champion product is identical to the previous Ram-Line item, including the packaging (excepting the print). Here is the MGW link for this item. I have no relation to MGW other than as a customer.

IIRC the original Browning A5 hasn't been made since '98, which is a shame.

I think all the Japanese (Miroku) barrels will fit and are good for steel shot. However, finding any A5 barrel for a reasonable price is a guaranteed exercise in frustration. Typically the asking price is as much or more than I paid for my shooter A5 shotguns.

Yeah, got a couple boxes of bismuth, but spendy. I like my stoeger 3500 for everyday, but I'd like to shoot the A5 for nostalgia.
