Rear Sight Question

I recently built an AR franken-pistol out of parts in my stash box. The barrel has a standard, AR front sight but the receiver is a flat-top. Is there such a thing as a rear sight (not including a removable carry handle) that works with a regular front sight or do they only work with folding front "back up" sights? i.e I have to buy a MBUS set.

Thanks

Any BUIS rear should work with the A2 front but be mindful of what you buy, that it isn't part of a matched set. Flat top receivers finally have a standard by now, I believe, and any backup sight should work with the A2 front but if the rear is matched to an aftermarket front there may be problems. I know that magpul, GGG, Ruger, many others make a stand alone rear folder that works with the A2 front.
I have no idea how any of these will zero on a pistol nor do I keep up with all the latest AR ephemera.

DPMS used to make one like that. They come up for sale used from time to time. There's also the UTG knockoffs that you need to avoid.

Score!

Picked up this Daniel Defense sight from a member down in the marketplace. Think I'm going to the range tomorrow!

Cool! Wear double hearing protection.

Is that the SB Tac A3 brace? I have one coming on a new PSA lower as I type.

I think they call it their PDW brace.

The noise that thing makes plays second fiddle to the Castle Bravo sized ball of fire it generates!

Ah, yes. I've heard of that one, too. Can't yet tell them apart unless they are side by side. The PDW brace is considerably more expensive than the A3, I've learned, also.

FWIW it seems to be well made. I have no complaints about fit, finish and function.
