Hopefully Flickr won't go the way of Photobucket.

I am just glad that I saved the pictures when they were first posted as I really wanted to make a T48 clone but I never could find the pieces I needed.

Now I am just buying parts to complete the projects I have so I can sell complete kits as I downsize my collection.

The 1954, T48, Wow!!!!
The H&R receiver, the wood, the cartouche, the M14 style flash suppressor........
In semi auto only.... So a clone would be a pretty accurate representation.

I would rather a moderator substitute my active photo links to SLR-5000’s original post to ensure SLR-5000 (Pat Jones) gets the credit for these awesome pictures. Sadly, Pat Jones is no longer with us (RIP) .

Privately owned T48's

I came very close to one back in '82, owned by the Yuma County Sheriff's Department. They were interested in trading it for an M16.

I offered a Colt, some gun store in Tucson outbid me offering 2.

Oh well, it was all I could afford at the time. No clue where it is today.

I'd like to see Jim (snpr41) post up his T48 project pics when he's done with it.

No high standard pics? Which was the most tested and was finally deemed just as good as the m14 ? I know there were only like 15 made. And I have been researching and only found a few pics. None very detailed. But the ones tested in the end had sand cut carriers and inch mags. The earlier ones all failed testing
Because of sand/dust test and mag wobble and inaccurate barrels due to print conversions. (I stole that info from somwhere on the web..credit to whoever supplied the info.) Im trying to build a High Standard version if anybody has pictures let me know . Thanks

Edited to correct post. Posts # 39-44 show the H&R not High Standard T-48.

Those are all h&r
High standard version used 3 slot fn style handguard only. H&R and first t48's from fn used 2 slot british style hg, and some H&R had the one piece hg, And high standard there was only 15 made.So if a serial number higher than 15 its probly not a High Standard one. Got a few pics of one. Just none detailed like the fn and h&r posted ones here.

Oops. My mistake. I guess I had H&R on the mind.

Saw some pics from a museum. I think it was
springfield armory museum . But they look like they were take at atleat 40 feet away and blurry. They have 4 or 5 of the high standard ones there. May have to go on vacation there just to see if I can get pics. Not having much luck finding any on internet.

Link to Springfield Armory Museum on HS T-48 serial #2

http://ww3.rediscov.com/spring/VFPCG...BASE=22177419,

Just Google Springfield Armory Museum pictures and then do a search on High Standard. You will find links to several High Standard weapons you include the T-48’s.
