Smiling Squirrels

My daughter wanted to help me bring in this season’s final clutch of delicious Wisconsin hardwoods squirrel. Four grays & a fox. It was a beautiful winter still hunt, and some treasured time with my youngest. I’m a very, very blessed man.

I’m preparing “same day squirrel” pot pies for dinner tonight. Life is good, amigos!

Wow that's some serious eye protection. How did she manage to see the squirrels?
Just kidding, looks like a great day with the little one. Keep it up.

That's a good sign for a young gal. Good for you. My father would take me squirrel hunting. Luckily our older neighbor liked to eat them. I tried it once and blech

[rss] That doesn't look like Madison! [/rss]

Great outing and the resulting tasty yummies as a bonus.
Nice work.

Can’t beat a smile like that! Congrats. For a squirrel filled meal that’s good on the go try these https://honest-food.net/bierocks-recipe/ the absolute best filling is grouse, or duck, but squirrel does dandy as well.

Those squirrels are big as cats! That sure is not Florida. I met a few in NY and they would not run away. I am glad to see your daughter doing something about that

Great pic and good on you for taking her hunting. Dad started taking me squirrel hunting when I was eight. I carried the 1904 Winchester that he carried as a kid. Still have it, complete with his initials carved in the stock. Six squirrels was a meal for our family. I think it tastes great. I don’t think that I would eat a city squirrel, though.
