Help Identifying Fal Lower.

I just purchased an FAL kit recently and was told it is early Belgian. This is the lower receiver i got with it. I cant find any markings on it other than the 4 digit serial number. Are there specific places i should be looking ?

More than likely Belgian. There may be proof marks at the back of lower that could be visible once you remove the buttstock. Also, the plate underneath the trigger plunger tends to have proof marks.

Ah ok. I checked the plate and it has what appears to be a number 5. Ill check under the stock when i get my stock tool in.
Here is a picture of the whole kit. Not numbers matching, but thats alright with me.

I think its just a mixed kit then. The barrel is definitely belgian, has the crown over oval with elg. Only paid 550, and as long as i can get it together and working ill be happy.

Lower appears to be of Belgian manufacture, bolt carrier does not match, but is also of later Belgian manufacture. I don't see the typical Cuban "triangle".

It may be a later contract Chilean as the serial number is in a different place from most seen and it has a late locking lever.
Any badly worn parts should be replaced as most gas tubes are rusty & pitted and buttstocks are, well.... It should clean up and function well.

Gas tube surprisingly doesnt look that bad inside. Is the handguard appropriate or do you guys think its from a different kit?

The font and location of serial # are similar to the Libyan contract,
Could have found its way to Central America

I am curious , did you pull up the locking lever to see if there is a #
hiding under it?

Just a thought about that lower serial number placement & locking lever reminds me of contract FAL's which have the short combo flash hider on the barrel.

Build it as is and enjoy shooting it.
