Hi Power Grips

I need a recommendation for some new Hi Power grips from someone that has had luck in finding new good replacements.

I bought an Argie Hi-power that has fat wood grips. I have always preferred the thin Browning grips. I don't necessarily need wood grips, but I want grips no thicker than the traditional Browning commercial grips.

I've done a bit of looking and find mixed reviews. I don't like wrap-around grips, for what that's worth. If you've got a good recommendation, I'm all ears! TIA.

Uncle mikes used to make a set of rubberized checkered grips for the HP, very nice, but discontinued years ago. They were a licensed copy (so to speak) of Spegel grips. http://www.craigspegel.com/

Spegel grips were the nicest I ever used. I had fully checkered thin wooden ones that were gorgeous! I would like to find another pair. Let us know what you end up with.

VZ grips are always an option as well. I had a set on my hi power and loved them.

Lots of good options listed so far. I have VZs and they are worth it. I also have a pair of Hogue Checkered Goncalo grips (09211) that I really like and fit well. Fit needs to be tight, but feel & style are highly subjective. Whatever you choose, please post up a pic!

Craig still makes them - I just got a set for my second HP. He doesn't always stock them, so you have to get your name on a waiting list. Mine took a couple of months but it varies. Absolutely WELL worth the wait and cost !!!!

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I'll do a bit more research and then take the leap. I'll let you all know what works, or, perhaps, what doesn't.

I've ordered 5-6 grip sets from them. Only had to return one set because I didn't like the way they fit. Overall good quality products.
