The two look like common markings for a G1 or BGS wood pistol grip. The odd one looks like a screw imprint?

Looks Belgian to me. As Tattered said, probably BGS or G1. Nice crisp proofs! I think the 2 in the date box indicates made in 1962?

That appears to be a Greek lowercase letter phi φ . Some sources identify this character as a Belgian date code for "1961" on commercial barrels.
However, this is not what's typically found as a date code on FN-FALs; the "number in partial box" format is common on FN-FAL military contract parts. The FN FAL Primer says the date code for 1961 would be a '1' or 'I' in a partial box.
Is there a "number in box" code on the front or rear face of the carrier???

Negative

The only other markings are the stamped SN# 259163 and an etched ZA-21287 on the side.

ZA-marked lowers are most often IMBEL Type III's. There are some ZA-marked bolts and/or carriers in the Rhodie #'s thread with serial #'s in the 25x,xxx range that the owners claim are IMBEL. So in the absence of any other markings I would conclude that your carrier was manufactured by IMBEL and saw service in Zimbabwe. And in that case, I have no clue what the phi φ symbol means.
