New Saiga

Gents,

Picked up a 7.62x39 saiga at the fun show this weekend, it was already converted. It does have your run of the mill plastic ak stock. I'm wanting to put a folder,maybe, and I need advice. I like the CNC warrior galil folder, seems very well built and sturdy. The magpul zhukov is another possibility. What say you AK guys on a good, stable well made folder???

I have the Zhukov on a couple of converted Saiga rifles, a 5.45 and a .308 and like them a lot. They feel and work well and went on with no issues. I have shot the 5.45 quite a bit with an Aimpoint on an Ultimak mount and it is easily my favorite AK, if not my favorite rifle of the whole AK/AR/etc. bunch.

Saw a couple of unconverted Saigas at the pawn shop yesterday. A .223 for $750 and a .308 for $650. Both had the pistol grip stocks that did not require moving the trigger forward. Prices seemed pretty high to me for something that needs more dollars and work to be closer to “right”.

I got mine at the fun show for 500....already converted, pistol grip,trigger, bullet guide and all. BUT, I'm glad I gave it the once over, as the dimwit who had it put a nice yankee hill flash hider on it...only problem was it was a 223 flash hider...that could have been a mess. Gun shows....buyer beware. Excellent deal over all as I shot it yesterday, no flash hider of course, but it shot like a champ. I am gonna order the Zhukov, from what I been reading and what you said, seems they are solid...thanks

The Zhukov is nice. Just don't forget the whole thing is plastic and it will serve you very well.

Ya, wish I would have grabbed a few at 179.99 a 47 and a 74...and ya , plastic will work for a while I think. Until I break it and go buy the CNC metal one
