tastes like chicken, according to a chinese i know

little dinosaurs invading florida. solution, import more south chinese. they eat "everything with 4 legs but a table, everything in the sky but a plane, anything on water but a boat"

https://www.foxnews.com/science/mass...-jurassic-park

MIAMI –– Hundreds of thousands of unwanted visitors are invading Florida homes and public areas. While these green iguanas seem to be enjoying the sun, residents are comparing their takeover to "Jurassic Park."

"My daughter was home visiting school in the summertime and she took out her camera and literally played the [theme to] 'Jurassic Park' and started videotaping as they were approaching the greens … they will just go running, and you see what looks like little dinosaurs running away from you," Dawn Braeseke, the general manager of Cooper Colony Golf and Country Club, said...
the iguanas can weigh up to 17 pounds and grow to more than five feet in length. They also have a relatively long life expectancy, surviving for up to 10 years in the wild and 19 years in captivity.

reminded of that scene from Evolution:

but wouldn't it be great:

The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same.

Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?"
"In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad."
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Max.
"You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Florida is overrun with pythons now too. What I don't understand about Florida is that you have to be licensed to catch them. If invasive species are an issues, why not remove the regulations on catching them like we have with hogs in Texas and encourage everybody to go find them?

Make it a felony to ship them across state lines without a license if you must to keep unscrupulous individuals from rounding them up for sale and spreading them. But I don't understand why you have to be a licensed removal agent....they'll never have enough people hunting them to make a dent. It's a farce.

That was a running joke, on how the US could have won in Vietnam.

Well, if I read the article correctly, folks are being encouraged to kil lthem on sight, doesn't sound like any licensing required for that.

If indeed there is a licensing requirement for trapping, I would think maybe that is ti attempt to control trapping for resale ? That would make sense, although as always, enforcement becomes the issue.

Daughter Evelyn is living in Mayan jungle in Mexico. She just ate her first Tolooc - Mayan for "iguana".

She, too, said it "tastes like chicken". She said she figured it out when she pulled the spine and tail out of the big soup pot.

Protein is where you find it.......................until McDonalds gets ahold of it.

True story...................
I threw out two orders of McD's chicken fingers that were left over from guests....................threw them out on the front lawn.

Neither the crows or feral cats would eat them...ten days later they are still there.

Iguana and Squid, are probably much much better for you.

When I lived there, that was a question I myself had. As a bonus there would be an influx of snake skin boots, jackets, pants, hats, and so on.

Maybe PETA flexed its muscles?

They do taste good. I like lizard.

S FL is overrun. They sun themselves on the roadside everywhere. We were at the pool in key west and a monster came out of the shrubs headed for the pool. He was pretty smart, watching the pool boy who was watching him. Pool boy eventually chased him off, but then pool boy got off work and he came back. Everyone was cheering for the lizard since he outsmarted and outlasted pool boy.

Like those long-term food storage ads...they always put some green crap on the side as if it makes it look more tasty...
Are those things cooked or raw? Which way are you supposed to eat them?
I remember my Grandma used to pickle cow tongue. Always freaked me out when she pulled the jar out. Brings back images of the cow licking its own nostrils...
