Can 7mm Rem Mag be Resized To 300 Win Mag?

I inherited a bunch of 7mm Rem Mag brass but my kid has a Remington 700 in 300 Win Mag. Can this 7mm brass it be successfully resized "up" to the 3300 Win Mag?

TIA,
Jarhead

Sell or trade the Remy brass for the 300 Win.

Reforming could likely be done, but you would end up with short cases. Rem 7 mag is some .156" shorter from base to shoulder. That may be lessened by fire forming, but I would not care to shoot a case with a short neck in my rifle due to possible erosion of the chamber/throat.
Add the fact that these cases headspace on the belt so fire forming is thinning the web in front of the belt, making for a shorter case life.

Bottom line, 300 Maggie cases are readily available and converting is not worth the fuss and aggravation.

If that 7MM brass said 7x57 on it, I would have been happy to rid you of it.

+1. There's far too many options for 300 Win Mag brass available to fool around with forming it from something else. Heck, with hunting season starting soon, everyone will be out trying to sight their rifles in. Just go the range and pick up a bunch of once fired 300 Win Mag cases and recycle them. I'd wager that most local shooters aren't reloaders.
