Choosing parts for T44E4s 11061 and 11062

Enjoying the smells of Thanksgiving dinner cooking, I decided to start laying out parts for my next T44E4 builds. Dug out a couple of unitized, USMC method, gas cylinder assemblies. Selecting bolts as I go along. Couple of USGI op rods. I think I like this part almost as much as shooting the finished products.

One will have an 18.5 inch LRB medium weight barrel in .308.
Then other is going to be set up with a Bula Defense Systems medium weight 22" barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. This will be set up with NM sights front and rear just for the halibut.
Barrels are only hand tightened for the moment. Looking over my selection, I think these will do fine for this type of build.
Haven't decided on which stocks to use yet, but that part is down the road anyway.

I have a couple of other 6.5 M14 types and they do .5 to .75 with no problem.

That is cool, I read a report when Springfield brought out their M1A in 6.5 Creedmore that they were shooting amazingly accurate also, then I started reading other reports where others weren't having such good results. I'm glad at least you KNOW how to build them right, I always love seeing your latest builds.

I just re-barreled, and headspaced my first M1 Garand type weapon, been wanting to do that for years. My first try was perfect, good headspace and 100% reliable function. I'm computer ignorant but if I can get my son to post some photos of her I'll send them to you to post on here if you'd like.

She's a hybrid, I bought a "Tanker" Garand that was modified to take M14 magazines it was a un-cut/not re-welded receiver, and it was cheap so I figured it didn't work well. But I like challenges.

First thing it wouldn't feed I swapped out the Garand bolt for a BM59 bolt, and then it fed, the barrel was out of spec and had excessive head space.

I got a SARCO BM59 Alpine barrel had it shortened to 17.5" installed and headspaced myself,
used a BM59 op-rod, BM62 gas cylinder and muzzle device, then sliced and diced a rather used M14 synthetic stock and handguard to fit the "Tanker sized Garand (had to cut the front legs off of the receiver to work with the '14 stock.

But I now own the coolest "Mini-M14" ever, I call it the BM64. It's fun building your own weapons, I see why you enjoy it so much. Good luck with your latest projects.

Added Bula Defense Systems T44E4 11062 to the herd today. 6.5 Creedmoor in my experimental color coding system.

Got some time today to work on Bula Defense Systems T44E4 11061. Dang this if fun.

Used an LRB med weight all states compliant barrel, Jon Wolfe adjustable gas lock front sight. Then a mix of USGI and Bula parts to complete the barreled action. All headspaced and ready to drop in a stock and function fire.

Trying to decide on a stock for 11061. These are the available stock minus the Ford blue.
