I know what you mean. This is the only one I have; always works good and damned accurate too...just ask that ol' egret that hung around the tank. Turns out that federal protection only works if a fed is around...

Late to the party but truly amazing. It must be nice to not let LIFE get in the way and disrupt the massing. Very nice examples. Beautiful!

That's a really good looking Schofield ghenghis. Man, I'd love to have one.

Agreed. They are supposedly extremely well made also.

Thanks guys, still have a long way to go to catch up to Hansell. Unfortunately there probably won't be many more this year.

Anyone here have suggestions for future purchases? I really want a Luger but maybe someone can either affirm my desire or point me in a new direction.

Thanks guy's, I'm thinking of turning it into a Sporter by installing a Bonesteel folding stock, a parabellum scope Mt. cover, 1x6 scope and removing the Pod. Of course I can easily reconfigure it back to it's original condition if need be.

I just want to make it a little more user friendly for range work.

I usually picture such items as needing to stay "as intended." The beauty is in each in its own form, not making it into something else. I would leave the poor girl alone.

Buying multiples and tarting one up is a different story. That's always fun, and I know you like multiples!

Kind of like the main gripe I had about the Sig 556 series. Lots of arguments that it was "better" than the original, but, darnit, I wanted the original! (The 551-A1 proved to be a great disappointment, regardless. It's now a paperweight... a very pretty paperweight.)

Yes I think your correct, I will most likely just remove the Bipod and try it out like that. Thanks for your input.

BTW what's wrong with your SIG551? My 556 is a sweet shooter.

Here's my Ljungman AG-42B, made in 1943. I bought it from a member here last year.

Thanks a lot! Well, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I haven't shot it yet either. I've been accumulating some 6.5, and sort of waiting until my son could join me to try her out. It's been tough getting our schedules in order.

In fact, I have four rifles that I've bought in the last 12-16 months that haven't been shot. I expect that the Ljungman will shoot quite well though (no doubt better than me)...at least they have that reputation.

Is Valmet pronounced "Val May" or Val Met"? Either way, those are really nice!

hansellhd, could do me a favour: would a 30-06 round fit, length-wise in the important parts of a G43? As in, if we assume the barrel and bolt are up to it (think of those conversions that usually are badly made), would it have a fighting chance to fit the firearm? Reason is that I always wanted to own a Itajuba Mosquetao clone and was trying to figure out if they started with the G43 receiver or changed its dimensions.

Really? I thought I had a better target picture with the MAS 49/56 irons than my FAL. I was doing much better groupings with the MAS at 100yd because while I could see the red blur representing the 4" losange in my IMBEL FAL, in the MAS I was seeing the red lines that divided the paper into 1" squares. Yes, the front sight is rather fat, but that is a matter of getting used to it.

This is what a 30-06 round looks like in the G43 chamber. It will not seat all the way, as expected.

HDH.

The trigger is just... gross. I bought an aftermarket trigger for it, but I don't mess with AK style triggers and will have someone else install it.

The rear sight has play, front handguards are iffy, and it feels front heavy. I think the 553 pistol as an SBR would be the cat's pajamas, but this 551-A1 just isn't my cup of tea. It will stay in my collection, solely because it is pretty. I want to have an "example" of everything. Next on the list is an AR-70.

And, C&R thread needs pics... So... Consecutive serial number MAS44s, both under 100

And my new SP1...

I agree that the SIG USA product is nothing like the Swiss SIG product when it comes to quality.

BTW Nice AR's
