OK, so explain the $7800 cool factor. Doesn't look a whole hell of a lot different than a FAL. I'm guessing mags aren't plentiful.

The original SIG 510-4 mags are not plentiful, but the rifle will take (and work) with the Swiss StGw-57 24 rd mags, and they are easier to find...

By the way, I not sure what you mean by 'doesn't look a whole lot different than a FAL.'

You mean other than the retarded blow-back (roller locked) action with the fluted chamber and all?

It is a semi-auto rifle that shoots 7.62x51mm ammo, so that's the same...

I still regret not buying one in the 70's when I couldn't afford one while they were still being imported. $700+ was a lot of money for those, just as $7,000+ is now.

I think they were the most interesting and well made semi-auto rifles that could or can be found. They have a huge "Cool" factor.

That's about $3500 in today's money. I guess the other $4000 can be chocked up to scarcity.

Low production numbers + low U.S. importation = collectibility--- and just the 20-round magazines are @ $300.00--- 5- and 10-round magazines even more!!!

The 510 is easily the finest rifle I own. Those who don't understand the allure have never experienced one.

Nice guns, as usual combloc. I had an unfired one (a later Sigarms import) that I sold to fund a move back in 2009 (IIRC I got $6k for it then). Unbelievably well-built rifle. A friend of mine has the only NIB one Ive ever seen.
