Retro Arms Works

I'm in the early stage of putting together my first 'retro' AR/M16. I am late to the party as the days of excellent condition vintage uppers priced at next to nothing is over. No need to mention that 'pro gun' administration that banned the importation of barrels which has made 20" Colt 'pencil barrel' with 1/12" twist illusive and expensive. I have had work done by RetroArmsWorks.com and have been very satisfied; reasonable prices, quick turnaround, returns calls in timely manner. Worth your consideration.

+1. John does fantastic work. He helped me with a 601 retro build a few years back. Great guy, great workmanship.

I appreciate John’s excellent communication and prompt service. He is one the few people on earth who will make a phone call if there are any questions or issues.

I appreciate that he doesn’t stack work.... he will notify you when he can take on the project. The turn around is crazy fast.

..... and John is genuinely a nice person to boot.

JT is a solid stand up guy. He expertly converted my M96 muzzle brake to the correct Stoner 63 flashider which he has perfect replicas of in stock.

Welcome Aboard Brother! I had not seen you come over. I just returned to snugbus last month. I'm still getting ready to join you in Fargo or at least South Dakota.

I have seen a VN SF Colt CAR15 marked “commando” on its receiver in a museum, with a 10” barrel, moderator and collapsible stock that looked sexy as hell to me.. if I were to get a retro AR that would be it.

Those are easily my favorite AR variants. Dear God they’re LOUD.

John worked on a prototype project for me several years ago. He reprofiled a barrel and then grafted a bm59 muzzle brake fh to it after some more modifying. Makes for a great little carbine.
