Paging Luger Guys

I don't know much about P08s, other than I have always wanted one. This one came to me in my dad's estate and wondered if anyone could shed a little light on what I might have.

Appears to me to be numbers matching. Cal is .30 Luger. Seems clean to me for such an old pistol.

Any thoughts or information? Please discuss

Well it’s a DWM. They typically have better machine work and less machine marks then a Erfurt. But that’s about all I know. If you are comfortable with it I would take it apart further and look for more serial numbers as these guns are heavily marked.

likely an early Commercial variant

.30s were not widely sold to military
mostly civilians and police
any markings over the chamber on the upper receiver ?
can't make out any from your pix

you know any history where he obtained it ?

Figured it was a commercial pistol, but my P08 knowledge is pretty limited. No markings over the chamber. I'll get some better pics when I get a chance, probably be later this week though, still putting away some of the other stuff I brought home.

I also got a P38 that is not bad but not at pretty as the P08, even with both of them being commercial It'll make a cool display with the SS armband that my great uncle brought back from the war...

Don't know that much about them, but I do know where it's brother is. Another DWM commercial in .30 Luger. Thing shoots like a laser.
