Under timed barrel

I知 trying to correct an under timed barrel, suggestions as far as how to approach this. Short barrel and the gas tube is in the way of the barrel blocks. Of course the gas tube is soldered on. Do I melt the solder. Cut the tube or how would you tackle this. I知 not a fan of putting any tension on the barrel flats.

YOu may not be a fan, but I used smooth blocks in a vise to clamp the barrel flats.

Like the fella in the thread below putting 200lbs of torque, I hate to risk rounding flats. But it may come to that.

Recommend removing gas block along with gas tube.

Knock enough off the shoulder so it doesn't come to that. You can get it to 70+ with no issue. Nah, not going to happen at 200. I smeared one and learned although the vice was a POS

undertimed

Under timed by how much. Really a photograph would help. You can shave the barrel with a cd with glued on emery paper.
Or use a Wadsworth barrel shaver.
Really need more info.

I need a new photo host, I can send pictures via text if someone want to post them.

I got the rifle as a complete item. And during my pre shoot inspection, the gas rod would catch, finally noticed the barrel is at about 1145, just enough it痴 out of whack. Might also explain why the original rod was bent.....

DS prefix TII. I値l have to dig it out to see the barrel type, but soldered has tube. Don稚 have enough free barrel space to mount a barrel block to tighten it.....or take it off to shave it.

I hate pulling and reinstalling GBs but in your case I think I have to agree with this. Unless you make a very specialized set of barrel blocks or a set of blocks or a wrench that's fit perfectly and are hardened for the flats, I see no other choice.
I'd love to see pics of the barrel, it about has to be short gas. The Ratas blocks most of us use work perfectly fine on StG barrels with the soldered tube.

You've been given several options. Clamp the barrel flats with a smooth jaw vise insert and see how tight it's on there or take the damn gas block off. Nothing wrong with using the flats as long as you don't smear them. Those tubes are silver soldered so you pull out a torch you better know your bidness
