I got one last year with a DPMS receiver and a 16" HB. Cost was $580 and well worth it. Couldn't build it for that much. the only thing is the barrel is not marked anywhere. I don't know who made it or what twist it is.

This is the best deal on ARs that I can find out there. I am not even seeing used ones that cheap around here.

Got one on the way.

Reports from last year's BB offering were overwhelmingly positive.

In fact, most folks said they were much nicer than they expected.

In a time where you can't find M4 uppers for under $550, a complete rifle for $599 is outrageously cheap.

I'll post pix when it arrives.

They are getting ready to release their .308 AR that uses G-3 mags. Cleaning out the sheds I imagine to help with cost. But you didn't hear it from me.

I might think about an AR that takes G3 mags.

BTW

They've already shipped the AR I ordered today.

that is so freaking cheap I can't stand it. I just spend double that on a Smith & Wesson. While the S&W is nice, I would bet that these are nice enough that I could have two for that price. Sh*t, now they do the sale.

Oh well, live and learn.

I can't tell if I have an infestation or not.

But, I saw small rifle primers all over the floor this morning, so unless somebody is tracking them in from outside.

Well ok I bought my cmmg bargain bin 20" rifle back in the day for $550. DPMS lower, the rest of unknown manufacture but it looks and functions perfect and is one of my favorite shooters.

primers on the floor? sloppy man, sloppy!

I got mine this afternoon. The upper and lower are CMMG. I finally found one little rubbed place on the front of the mag well, otherwise it looks NIB.

I'll post pix.

My Bargain Bin rifle showed up at my FFL's on Tuesday (I ordered last Friday), but I couldn't get by his shop until today.

His first words to me were "CMMG sent you the wrong gun."
I asked what he meant, and he said "There is no way this is a "scratch & dent", used, or bargain bin rifle. I can't find a mark on it!"
javascript:smilie('')
Whew.

We gave it a quick breakdown and function check, and it's 100%. Finish is perfect, all parts in place, CMMG lower, Cerro-Forge marked upper, CMMG WASP 1/9 barrel.

It looked so good, my FFL asked if he could put his $6000 Gen3+ NVG on my rifle, as it just came in and he has no flat top rifle to mount it on. Sadly, he didn't let me keep it.

Anyway, EoTech, BUIS, and sling will be on before the night's over. CTR, MIAD, and forend rail system will be ordered tomorrow, if I don't see anything "good" at the gunshow.

Okay...here's pix...

BB guns? Ohhhh....Bargain Bin....

F Marked...

If you're on the fence on these...don't be. I'm impressed.

You're already at THE gun show.

That other thing you are going to is just a side show.

WASP is CMMG's tennifer/nitride coating.

According to arf.com, nitriding is supposed to be "the new chrome lining".

It's supposedly more consistent and longer wearing than chrome lining bores.

I threw a M4A3 together on Brownells quick just to compare prices. I didn't use the cheapest stuff, most of it mid-range or better. I came out with $558 without a lower receiver ($100) or hand guards ($20?).

$599 is nearly $100 less than what I could build one with dealer pricing and not counting my time.

Picked mine up from the FFL yesterday:

BB Guns ... HA!

Kept my toes out of this one ...

Looks almost like a punch mark ... not big deal though for the $$$

BLEH ... gonna swap that out soon with a fixed stock.

Few marks on the barrel ... again not a big deal.

Looks like Chief wouldn't mind having one of these!!

Yours has a different receiver than mine.

They're both CMMG, but mine is marked MK-4

They're pretty sweet for the $$ though....

Carriers appear well staked

Here's the carrier from my CMMG BB rifle-

Picked one on friday-looks new- no blems- cmmg lower, haven't tried it yet or took it apart. Feels a little rough pulling the bolt back. Have to clean it good, lube it up and break it in sometime, if my buddy doesn't come over and take it from me first (6 bills-not bad pricing, seeing 8 plus on gunsamerica, for what its worth).

Solved. Tac-Bac isn't jerky but it's close enough.

Tactical Bacon

I'd been feeling the want for an AR in the safe but the high prices managed to keep me at bay. I'd even started to consider a Mini-14 for a cheap 223. Now you waft under my nose an AR15 at Mini-14 pricing. Have to figure out how to make my pitch to the wife.

Ordered the 18" Bargain Bin CMMG rifle 11-30 and received it 12-2. If it had gotten here any quicker I wouldn't have had time to order it. There are no blemishes that I have found yet except for a couple of scrapes near the feed ramps. I didn't pay extra for the hand picked. Havn't shot it yet. Came with a Doublestar lower receiver. The upper has the keyhole symbol. The barrel has a chrome bore and chamber but no manufacturers marks at all. It has a Tapco stock. I'll try to post a link to the pictures.

I field stripped the rifle when I got it to see what I had. I couldn't find any markings on the barrel , not even an index mark. It does have the bore and chamber chrome plated and the twist is 1 in 7 which was easy to check. The bolt has what looks like TC electically engraved on it but no other marks. Everyhing looks brand new. I can't find any wear at all on it. No marks even on the mag well. Locks up tight. I havn't shot it yet but expect to within a week. The front sight looks like it might be slightly off but I will probably replace it with a plain gas block and put on a red dot sight.

I've always thought these are "parts guns," sold by CMMG, and not CMMG's in-house product.

I wouldn't expect these barrels to have have the markings normally found on the more expensive CMMG in-house product.

This is a fair assessment, Gary.

Typically, from what I understand, a lot of the BB guns are either assembled for demos, or assembled from parts for shoots/demonstrations.

Quite a few of the BB guns are all CMMG (mine is all CMMG[barrel, bolt & carrier staked in the CMMG way and MP marked, CMMG receiver] save for the TAPCO buttstock that came on the rifle), but many are made from various parts from various mfgs. Hence the Double Star, Armalite, and DPMS receivers found on some rifles.

For the money, one would be hard pressed to build the "same" rifle for less cash.

Mine drive tacks, so far with 62 gr and 55 gr surplus.

The CMMG rifles appear to be good buys but we can't sell them here in N.J.
The Sporter style black rifes are legal here but only with a plain barrel or a barrel with a fitted muzzle brake. My choice is the Colt Sporter HBAR w the compensator.
Apparently the state feels that the rifles are more dangerous with a flash hider. Bayonet lugs are also illegal here so the legislature might have thought that there would be too many drive by bayonet attacks. So far there have been none in the history of our state but the left wing liberal politicians will look for every restriction to hold back the legal ownership of semiautomatics. Still we can shoot and own a black rifle, just in a more "sanitized" look. Rediculous? You be the judge.

Just my luck, Its Christmas when all my money is tied up elsewhere, otherwise I'd buy another AR for that price.

I live close to CMMG (about 20 minutes away) and there is a local "Black Rifles" shop that is tied in with them in town. I was in there last weekend and they had probably 20 on the wall rack and 60 in the back. I am planning on doing a XM177 or I'd get one. The CMMG rifles that they carry are priced kind of high in my book, but they do a decent business.

No, not seriously. I just thought the expression on Chief Joe Medicine Crow-High Bird was rather humorous as he looks like he'd rather be somewhere/anywhere else ... like shooting a CMMG AR-15 on a range.

Obamanation is presenting him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in the picture. Here's the write-up from the interweb:

"Joe Medicine Crow-High Bird: The last living Plains Indian war chief and author of seminal works in Native American history is also the last person alive to have received direct oral testimony from a participant in the Battle of the Little Bighorn: his grandfather, a scout for Gen. George Custer."

That Crow chief is so old, that's how he always looks

Every BB Gun I've seen at the local (Springfield & Joplin) shows carries a Doublestar lower. None that I've looked at have shown any sign of external blemish.

Hard to beat for the money - have a hard time building one for less. Though, for me, by the time I added upgrades to suit my taste (CTR stock, MOE pg, ETG, RRA 2-stage trigger and BUIS), the total price would be more like $860. Don't know if I'd have one as a SHTF rifle, but if you want a beater/truck gun, it's a good deal, especially if you're happy with the configuration as-is.

It's a helluva deal, especially considering I paid $525 just for a CMMG 14.7" M4 upper recently!
My only excuse is I wanted the 14.5" look in a legal 16" OAL barrel.

Carriers appear well staked

What's that BUIS you have on it? Looks great by the way.
