Define "not seat all the way". You may be fine???

The bolt and carrier is not a factor regardless.

Re: New To FALs

Might want to press off your Israeli gasblock first and measure the inside diameter, it seems that several of these have been oversized which would complicate just using any random metric barrel. I know one guy posted a thread here about it, but is it "several"? Not disputing you, but I only saw th...

Re: Type 2 on GB

Here's the deal. FN built commercial rifles for years that used the G prefix, just because it has a G serial number does it mean that it's a banned G series. Also, up until FALs were banned from import it wasn't uncommon for people that maybe served in the military to buy guns while stationed over ...

Re: WARNING: Do NOT use 5.56 in a 223 rifle !!!!

Took me a few to get it. But yeah, I wonder how many people lately who bought ARs and got American Eagle on strippers and now are trying to figure it out. I've had some American Eagle accessories on a few Harleys. I've had a few strippers accessorizing a few Harleys as well. I've never seen America...

WARNING: Do NOT use 5.56 in a 223 rifle !!!!

I heard it was terribly dangerous, probably worse than shooting 308 in a 7.62, but wanted to try it anyway.

The 5.56 is a PITA to load in the 223 mag and it won't even feed in my rifle!!!!

Re: White herron type bird in midwest?

We see these white egrets all the time when we are down at our place in FL, but in a lifetime of boating, skiing, fishing the Ohio River and various lakes around here, plus having a lake in my front yard since 2007, I don't think I've ever seen one around here. We do have a great blue heron that han...

Re: White herron type bird in midwest?

Googling some more, I agree it must be an egret. I don't recall ever seeing them up here, but Wikipedia says they can range as far as southern Canada.

White herron type bird in midwest?

I just had a bird out by my lake that looks like a heron or egret but is pure white. My Google-fu is not finding anything that I can match that lives in the midwest. Any ides?

We won't know until we know I suppose, but all reports I have seen said the old data all transferred successfully. I would assume this applies to PMs as well.

That is very cool! I'm curious though, (and I know it's a small amount considering the price of the rifle) 75 bucks for shipping? Does insurance cost that much maybe or just padded shipping costs? I haven't shipped a rifle in a while so that might standard shipping cost now for all I know. Dang nic...

If people are building rifles and don't have a $30 set of calipers to at least report the diameter of the GB journal, then I'm out of here. I never got into the Izzy thing at all. So much wrong with the vibe with respect to the mods they made. FWIW. Blech :P 3 posts up, put the journal and gas bloc...

I feel like on ARS site it said 0.096 was to spec but he has built a lot that had sluggish gas systems at that so he does 0.116 now by default. I'll defer to GP to clarify what he said, but I doubt that is exactly what he said. A port of .096-ish is standard and .116" (a #32) is about where you nee...

It's an Argentine receiver, probably worth $700 by itself. Coolness. What are you seeing on the receiver I'm missing to say it's Argy? I'm not disputing you but I cannot see any detail on my laptop to say what it is? Topcover relief cut on the right side and the C prefix serial number. I opened it ...
