Re: FAL MATCH @ RBGC in GA is still a go for Aug 29th!

I had my left eye retina tacked back down with a (finger curl) "lazer" this past Friday so I won't be touching off anything stronger than a .22 for a few more weeks. But I want to see some of my friends and maybe meet some new ones. I'll probably pee in the lake at Stimp's later but he'll never catc...

Re: BIG BOOM in BEIRUT

Agree. But what got it to go off? Even hot NH₄NO₃ doesn't just explode? Somebody dump a couple of truck loads of FO on it? Fire hot enough in the building could liquify the AN, organics (wood, plastics, etc) in the area provide the hot carbons at the interface and Bob's yer Uncle. No way all the 2K...

Re: BIG BOOM in BEIRUT

I don't know. I still believe, it was a few gentlemen, a few rolls of det cord, and set off on purpose. With the fertilizer being a handy thing to blame it all upon. I think it was pure stupid and sloppy. No Mossad necessary when lazy fuckoffs are running a dock facility storing "shit been here for...

Yup, it does go against the old saying I learned. Do what you oughter pure acids into water. Probably a big dependence on surface tension between the smurf juice and the water.
Nah, he was just gluggin' the stuff out of a big jug over the side of the boat. I'ze just pokin' at 'im.

Re: BIG BOOM in BEIRUT

Even the Arab press agrees, it was a Hisbalah missile dump, which makes sense. There was a vigorous fire at the facility before the detonation. I would expect at least a few ignitions of those rocket motors and the attendant "flights" to be visible. I saw no evidence of that. All of them executing ...

You had the chance to bandsaw it in half lengthwise under a running garden hose and then we'd know. But you blew that chance now didn't you?

Re: It’s Better to Get Shot with an AK-47 Than an M4/AR-15

My goto -15 is chambered in .458 SOCOM. I don't think the terminal ballistics of that 325 grain Hornady FTX at 1950 fps fits the parameters of the OP's statement.

I'm OK with that.

Try dumping a few gallons of AquaShade into a lake over the side of a Jonboat.

Look Ma, I'm a Smurf !!!

Next time run it down the handle of the paddle stuck in the pond water. Some liquids 'resent' being splashed and will demonstrate their unhappiness. Glad this wasn't one of 'em.

We scattered his ashes on a range at River Bend Gun Club after the FAL match that year. His wife,Julie was there and maybe a dozen others. We drank from a bottle of Woodford Reserve to toast him.

It was fitting.

June 2014. Me and him went to Oregon to visit with our brothers out there. He passed very quietly in his sleep the night before we were to return. Book on his chest, glasses on his nose when I found him that morning.
We lost a good one Bill.
